With education being a matter of paramount significance that harmonizes every society, and India being in an imperative state of this requirement, we at SAN CALPA have undertaken this initiative. CALPACAUSE aspires to stage our vision of ‘the new age India’. This vision invests to inspirit a new idea of India, a new educated class of India, a bold new India - the new age India.

From 1st March 2020, 5% of all sales* proceeds go towards educating the lesser privileged children from the rural area of Sangli, Maharashtra, our home. We will work with Siddhivinayak Shikshan Sansta (Siddivinayak Educational Institution), founded in 1998 by Lady Nirmala Vinayak Kanitkar (fondly called Aaji i.e Granny).

Lady Nirmala Vinayak Kanitakar, an orphaned young girl forced into poverty worked as a house maid at a tender age. The need to support herself and her education emboldened this young girl. Consequentially, she was determined to alter such tragic situational realities of children in India that lead her to teaching in her kitchen. Her dedication and her personal savings helped build a two classroom school enrolling about 85 students which was the birth of Siddivinayak Educational Institution.

This proud woman powered institution maintains a deeper understanding that education is not just an instrument for facilitating a decent livelihood but in fact a pre requisite for imparting discipline and social & moral responsibilities amongst the lesser privileged children. As of 2020, the school has enrolled 406 students with the efforts of its staff and teachers that work there on marginal salaries. Over 80% of the students come from poor families that cannot afford their children’s education.  These astounding figures and the bitter reality of rural India got us on with CALPACAUSE as we wish to do more!
